During the period of Sum’s training at APF, Sum’s father brought Sum to APF and then went to work. Sum was then picked up by his mother after training. Sum’s parents had a clear plan about Sum’s training and worked together to take good care of their son. They felt exhausted sometimes, but they did not give up because they believed early intervention was extremely important to Sum’s development.

After a year of training, the buddies from AM group of “Learning Buddies” finally graduated! And 3 buddies from the second intake of “Learning Buddies” also completed 6-month training. All of them improved significantly in different areas. Let us take a look at their training stories.

2019-07-02 Autism not diagnosed after the first assessment, until one year later

Many parents revealed that the waiting time for children to receive assessments provided by Child Assessment Centres (CACs) is quite long. In order to allow children to receive early treatment, some parents would look for the services from private institutions. Fung’s mother suspected that Fung had autism, so she brought him to a private institution to have an assessment, but he was undiagnosed.
