The mother is the only person to take care Yat Shik, her son who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Regardless of the struggles and dilemmas, the mother was forced to face, she was hustled to seek all the possible ways to turn the table for Yat Shik. She understands that her effort is not enough to promote her son to integrate into society beyond professional support.

A celebration party is supposed to be full of joy. However, Fung caused his mother to feel heartbroken at the party. Fung hid in a corner to clean up while all the other children were having fun aside. “It hurt me. He was not good at joining others and what he did was meaningless. But we were fortunate to join the “Learning Buddies” service programme, which has helped Fung not to isolate himself from people any longer,” said Fung’s mother.

Some children with autism are sensitive to sounds. Kwan was reluctant to the sound of hair cutting and could not have a proper haircut at a hair salon. After receiving Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) treatment, Kwan finally had his first hair cut at a hair salon!
